 Many of our Sixth Form students go on to great university courses and exciting apprenticeships leading them into careers in architecture, accounting, engineering, finance, teaching, social work, nursing, and more.

At Oaklands, we support our students progress so that they are equipped in their next stage of their lives. Whether that’s university, an apprenticeship, employment, or specialist training. With our personalised support, strong academic foundations, and a comprehensive careers programme, we ensure every student leaves us ready to succeed.

University

• We have students accepting places at prestigious universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. 
• Between 30 and 45% of our students attend Russell Group Universities (much higher than the National Average).
• Students study competitive courses such as medicine, dentistry, midwifery, architecture, engineering, economics, law, psychology, computer science and many more. 

Apprenticeships

• More of our students are choosing to apply for apprenticeships so they can study and work at the same time.
• In recent years students have taken up degree apprenticeships with high profile companies such as IBM, CISCO and Balfour Beatty.
• This year students have accessed Level 7 Apprenticeships - equivalent to a Masters Degree - with The Ministry of Justice and The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
