Congratulations to Musa Noor from Oaklands School, who has been elected Tower Hamlets Young Mayor!

This is a fantastic achievement, and we’re so proud to see Musa representing young people in our community. We can’t wait to see the positive impact Musa will make in the local community...

Message from Lisa Fraser, Director of Education, London Borough of Tower Hamlets,
"Thank you to school leaders for their promotion of our Young Mayor Election.  This year’s was our most successful to date and a powerful celebration of youth voice in Tower Hamlets. The council received over 95 applications, with more than 60 from girls; 15 candidates (10 girls and 5 boys) were then shortlisted and following a record voter turnout of around 40% (approximately 8,000 young people) a new Young Mayor Team of 6 members was elected.  Congratulations to Musa Noor from Oaklands School, our new Young Mayor, who secured nearly 3,000 votes — an incredible achievement."
