Under12 Cricket Cup Fixture

We are very proud to announce that our Year 7 Cricket Team won their recent game against Central Foundation Boys School at Regents Park.

Oaklands                                    81-5 (15 Overs)

Central Foundation Boys       74-6 (15 Overs)

Oaklands won the toss and elected to bat first against East London neighbours Central Foundation Boys. Oaklands posted a competitive total of 81-5 from their 15 Overs thanks to some excellent running between the wickets and big hits to the boundary by opener Aman. At the half way stage, Oaklands needed to bowl well to defend that total on a small ground, where runs could be scored quickly if the bowling was loose and batters were allowed to settle. Thankfully, due to some disciplined bowling and outstanding catching, Oaklands restricted CFB’s to 74-6 in their 15 overs, with the wickets shared amongst Ali, Abraruzzaman & Aman. Man of the match went to Aman for his 24 with the bat and outstanding catch at midwicket. Special mention to Awad who kept wicket with distinction in his very first competitive match as wicketkeeper. An all round good performance and enjoyable afternoon of cricket played in the right spirit.

Oaklands progress to the next round of the competition and their opponents are yet to be confirmed. We wish them all the best for the next round. Good Luck!
