We are the finalist of "War through Children's Eyes" Contest

Our Art students recently participated in the War Through Children's Eyes contest, a competition created to raise awareness of the impact of wars and violent conflicts on the communities and particularly on the most vulnerable members of those communities, the children.  We are very proud of our students to contribute to such a cause and are very pleased to announce that Oaklands has been selected as one of the finalists of the competition.

The competition was introduced by the Azerbaijani community in the UK as part of the remembrance campaign dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre of the Azerbaijani civilians in 1992. The WTCE team received a huge response with hundreds of entries from across the UK and dedicated all entries to every single child in the world who fell victim to wars.

We are very pleased to be selected as one of the finalist in a competition where various schools across UK took part. The credit as always is to our students for their level of creativity and being empathetic to other children less fortunate.

WTCE have confirmed that they will be discussing with judges and sponsors all the options to take further for the promotion of all the entries, such as a book publication, organisation of the exhibition etc.
