Year 10 Academic Sessions from UCL

A group of Year 10 students attended their third session at the sixth form with visitors from UCL. The workshop focused on research skills and university libraries. Students discussed how to decide whether sources are trustworthy and were introduced to academic journals, learning how these resources are used by university students to support high-quality academic work.

During the session, students explored strategies for identifying reliable information, evaluating the credibility of authors, and understanding the importance of evidence when building an argument. They also gained an insight into how university libraries and online databases support independent learning and research.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to UCL for continuing to support our students through these engaging and informative sessions. Opportunities like this help our students develop valuable academic skills and begin thinking about pathways to higher education.
