Year 12 Business Students raise over £1000 for the Lonely Orphans Charity

Year 12 Business Students successfully organised a charity dinner for a locally based charity “The Lonely Orphans” as part of their Business coursework called  “Managing an Event”. The event was supported by the Mumbai Square restaurant, where the dinner was held. Contributions from ticket sales and other events, where year 12 students demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills in selling tickets, cakes and lollipops, to raise money for their chosen charity.

The boys have worked extremely hard, both individually as well as part of a team. Their initial target was to raise £250 for charity but they have exceeded this and raised £1427. Excluding costs, £1017 will be going to the charity. Half towards the Lonely Orphans Education Fund and half towards the Bangladesh Flood Relief Programme. Representatives from the charity attended the meal and expressed their delight with the funds raised by year 12.

We are very proud of our young entrepreneurs and congratulate them for their efforts. Well done!

We would also like to extend our thanks to everyone who supported the charity dinner.
