Medical Careers Carousel

Our Year 10 and 12 students visited Barber-Surgeons' Hall, Barbican, to learn about careers in the medical field. They were presented with useful advice from students at King's College London and were able to speak to a variety of professionals working in the field from anaesthetists to paediatricians.

National Careers Week 2026

As part of National Careers Week, Oaklands welcomed a variety of inspiring visitors to support and enrich our Careers Programme for our students.

This year as part of Careers Week, our Year 10 students have been participating in a series of employability workshops delivered by Leigh Day. The fourth workshop focused on interview skills, equipping students with practical techniques and boosting their confidence. They also had the opportunity to speak directly with employees, asking questions and learning more about different career pathways and personal career journies.

Year 12 students were visited by two PhD researchers from UCL who delivered engaging taster lectures. One session explored ground breaking cancer research, while the other delved into the exciting world of electrical engineering.

Meanwhile, our Year 13 students attended an informative session from UCL, gaining valuable insight into student finance and preparing for the next stage of their academic journey.

A fantastic week of opportunity, inspiration, and preparation for the future!

Year 11 Mock Interviews

All our Year 11 students experienced a one to one interview with an employee from JPMorgan. Prior to the day, they were given tips on how to prepare for potential questions and were provided with immediate feedback at the end, as well as being able to ask questions back to the employees! All students gave positive feedback regarding the experience.
